The Oaks Lily is the official cocktail for one of the Bluegrass State's primary horse races, Kentucky Oaks. It dates back to 1875.

Rather than doubling down on juleps since that is one of their other champion drinks, they have decided to switch it up and go with something new! That's where the Oaks Lily cocktail came into the picture.

The Cosmopolitan gave birth to this refreshing, light vodka drink! Besides vodka, it also contains orange liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, and cranberry juice. It's perfect for a warm day at the track.

The pink color of the cocktail is a tribute to the stargazer lilies used for the winning filly and to promote the race's association with breast cancer awareness.
